I was so excited for the opportunity to photograph Christina and Paul’s wedding at the stunning Kuitpo Hall in South Australia. This divine venue features a stone building built back in 1926 and is so alluring. Team that together with this amazingly relaxed, easy going couple and it makes for some amazing wedding photography.
Christina is a real trooper – The night before the wedding I messaged to confirm a few small details and I received a message back from her …”Just letting you know that I developed appendicitis earlier this week and had my appendix removed. The wedding is going ahead but I’m not sure if this will influence how you take photos!” – I was amazed and thought to myself ‘I think she will be moving quite a bit slower throughout the day…’ but nothing could stop her. Christina was absolutely glowing and happily took all the preparations in her stride.
The happy couple broke with tradition and chose to walk out of the Kuitpo hall hand in hand which made for a beautiful entrance. Then in front of their family and friends they declared their love and commitment before we headed down to the Kuitpo forest for some fun filled laughter while we took some photos.
One of the latest trends for a wedding reception is for the bride and groom to play a game. Christina and Paul played ‘the shoe game’ which created a lot of laughter. This was followed by the speeches where Paul was presented with his “six goats” which he had playfully suggested he deserved as Christina’s dowry – especially considering she was now coming minus a body part!
As we left the venue the party was just starting up with everyone joining in on the macarena. It truly was a spectacular wedding and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to capture these memories for you!
